Innovation in Processing and New Generation Products Introduced to sustain and promote Growth of Kerala Ayurveda”

CII Kerala organized ‘Kerala Ayurveda Marketing Conclave 2012’ at Hotel Dream, Kochi. The Conclave was inaugurated by Mr V K Mathews, Chairman, CII Kerala State Council & Executive Chairman, and was a curtain raiser for the upcoming ‘Global Ayurveda Summit 2012’ scheduled along with Emerging Kerala, in September this year. Mr Mathews, in his inaugural address stressed on the huge potential for Ayurveda in Kerala and described it as a force that will eventually transform Kerala as a global hub for Ayurveda across the globe. He also spoke about the challenges that the Ayurveda Industry was facing and committed to provide all support from CII side to ensure that these challenges were met head on.

The Theme address was presented by Dr S Saji Kumar, Managing Director, Dhathri Ayurveda who is also the Chairman of Global Ayurveda Summit 2012, who stressed on the importance of Marketing Ayurveda in the right manner to ensure growth and development of the sector. Dr Saji Kumar stressed on the need to communicate effectively a Unified Story using Integrated Marketing Strategy by tapping radio, print, electronics, social media and Events. Dr Saji Kumar also mentioned that now is the time for Innovation in Processing and New Generation Products to sustain and promote Growth of Kerala Ayurveda. Dr Saji Kumar also provided an exciting insight into the upcoming Global Ayurveda Summit 2012 and said that the summit was positioned to showcase Kerala as a Global Destination and hub for Ayurveda.

Dr G Vinodkumar, State President, Ayurveda Medical Association of India congratulated CII for taking this bold initiative for supporting Ayurveda in Kerala. He was of the opinion that Summits like Global Ayurveda Summit should be encouraged by all stakeholders together to promote the overall growth and economic viability of Ayurveda in the State. Dr D Ramanathan, General Development, Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organization of India, supported the idea of holding Global Ayurveda Summit 2012, and said it would better the prospects of Health Tourism Industry in Kerala, which is already booming. Dr Ramanathan also urged for the setting up of a statutory Regulatory body for Ayurveda to work for the cause of promoting and developing Ayurveda in the State.

Mr C J George, Vice Chairman, CII Kerala and Managing Director of Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services Ltd opined that Emerging Kerala would be a great platform to showcase the strengths and the progress that Kerala had made in the field of Ayurveda. He also informed the gathering that Mr Sam Pitroda, Advisor to Prime Minister on Public Information, Infrastructure and Innovation has consented to be the Chief Guest for the Inaugural of The Global Ayurveda Summit 2012 along with Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy and other dignitaries. Said that the timing of the Ayurveda Summit was perfect

The Conclave was well attended by top stakeholders of the Ayurveda Fraternity from the city and the State. The onus of the Conclave was to introduce Global Ayurveda Summit 2012 to the community and the various aspects to be covered during the summit.

The Conclave also saw the Mr V K Mathews and Dr S Saji Kumar inaugurating the official Brochure for the Global Ayurveda Summit 2012, which was then unveiled to the members of the conclave. More than 150 delegates from various Ayurveda Companies of Kerala attended the well organized conclave.
